yes but you will have to convert the file to the right format and you will need a program to rip the cd

Not using iTunes. DVD's (one's which you buy in the shops) have copy-write protection on them. You will need to download software such as Nero Recode to convert the DVD contents to an iPod format which you can then put into iTunes and you will need to download (for free) software such as 'DVD43' to temporarily remove the protection. This does nothing permanent or physical to the DVD, just allows your computer to get the contents off it. :-)
