While others have gimmicks, McGettrick said his Wollaston beach institution has relied on good atmosphere, good music and good fun to set it apart.   • RIP to the "Father of South Shore Music" Jimmy McGettrick. You meant so much to so many, and brought so many people together over the years. Your legacy will live on at the Beachcomber and in our memories. Thank you, friend for making my 20's a decade I will always remember. "Weep not for the memories".

  • I've seen tha Catoons about a half dozen times at that place. But I'll always call it Nostalgia's, not the Beachcomber. If you couldn't pull tail out of there, hop in your car and bomb down to Ups and downs for last call and pull some Dot tail.

  • The DEAD END Kids rocked that place..
