  • Do clavichords need to be tuned? If so, how often?

  • @Tenifus Yes, clavichords need to be tuned quite often, but since the strings are not under high tension (like piano strings are), it is easy to tune a clavichord yourself with a little practice and a good ear. Depending on the instrument, how much it is played, and the weather, clavichords often need touching up every few days, but sometimes the tuning lasts for a considerably longer time.
