@LadyButterflyxx I agree on the Worldwide access thing, as for cinema - yeah it does burn a hole in your pocket and DVDs now are out 2/3 months after release that cost less than two tickets! Basically, you're right - they're doing themselves no favours. But I still get uneasy with the price argument because I wouldn't take a 'concrete' object (rather than the 'abstract' material of copywrite) just because I couldn't afford it.

Not going to lie, as much as I enjoy learning newsey news, I do miss soup videos.

I think that if everyone thought as you do, we wouldn't be in the situation we have now. The truth is a lot of people have got used to not paying for stuff - they see free music/films as a right. I can still remember when to get pirate stuff you had to get fake videotapes or bootlegged imports from Asia - it wasn't worth it. I think ACTA is a step too far in that it allows far too extensive powers...but I still think that there are serious problems with illegal downloading.

I think the best way to fix all of this is - at least for TV shows - allow it to be accessed (even for a fee like netflix does even tho netflix isn't world-wide yet) all around the world. Like, I can't watch shows on the BBC official website because its "not available in my country." So, I think that would be a step in the right direction. As for movies - I feel like more people would go to the movies if it wasn't so expensive.
