  • @bapyou Naomi Wolf is female. Her work on facism is the above titled book and film. I suggest you Wikipedia her for more info. All the best.

  • @djbethell I am with you, my man. You are on target. Who is/was Wolf & what are his works concerning the rise of fascism?

The books I've read about fascism include Robert O. Paxton's 'Anatomy of Fascism,' Franz Neuman's 'Behemoth' (about Nazi Germany), & the present-day work of the journalist Chris Hedges, in particular his books 'American Fascists,' 'Empire of Illusion,' & 'Death of the Liberal Class.'

This film is true revalation. It's amazing what one can discover on the internet.

  • @bapyou Wolf's ten steps are as follows: Create secret prisons where torture takes place. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens. Set up an internal surveillance system. Harass citizens' groups. Engage in arbitrary detention and release. Target key individuals. Control the press. Treat all political dissidents as traitors. Suspend the rule of law. All are in place in the US already and the likes of Palin et al are raring to go.
  • @bapyou I totally get what you're saying. I read Naomi Wolf's The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot which covers what you're talking about extremely well. She covers the blue-print ten steps to fascism. America has taken all of these and is ripe for fascism. It's well worth a read. and also was made into a documentary by IndiePix Films released in 2008. You can check her out on YouTube too giving a fantastic talk about it.

  • @djbethell "I'd rather not listen to that crazy harpy."

I'd rather not listen to her myself. But, on the video I reccommended to you, if you click the CC button, words appear at the bottom of the screen explaining the underlying meaning of what "the harpy" is saying. The parallels between 1930s Germany & the U.S. today are many. Examples: extreme militarism; extreme nationalism (USA! USA!); scapegaoting of vulnerable populations (illegal immigrants; intellectuals; liberals), etc.

  • @bapyou No thanks, I'd rather not listen to that crazy harpy. I've seen the route America has been taking way back from Regan onwards. Sadly the Dream has become the Scream with the US being the only country that has been at war with one country or another every year since the last world war.

  • 8:16 "To what extent a person must be desensitized so that he can keep such photos as pleasant memories."

I've met veterans of the Iraq War who've taken similar photos; photos of corpses, first kills, decapitations. The same was done in Vietnam. All wars have the same dehumanizing effect on men; dehumanization is a prerequisite for participation in barbarity. It forms the core of all military training & preparation for combat.

The greatest atrocities are commited by those following orders.

  • @djbethell Want to shock yourself even further? Visit a video called 'Palin at the TeaBagger Party' posted by brendanmcooney; be sure to click the CC button at the bottom of the view screen and read the annotated comments. Hitler came to power during a period of economic collapse by appealing to ultra nationalist sentiments. The Tea Party in the U.S. also appeals to ultra nationalist sentiments. Read the history of the Third Reich. The parallels with America's present-day right wing are bracing.

  • fake translation

  • Just when I think I can't be more disgusted or shocked by the inhumanity of Nazi evil I see something like this. It is too chilling to fully express in words the sickness that these people wish to inflict on others. What disturbed minds think this is something to be proud of? A shame we must all live with.
