@JohnnyC133 As a matter of Fact Scotty and Spock both Joined the Crew at the same time During Pike's command Scotty was a Junior grade Lt. and Spock was a full Lieutenant. I know tptb currently view the novels as non-canon. however, I personally regard Vulcan's Glory to be valid in Trek continuity as well as Strangers from the Sky, Enterprise The First Adventure, Yesterday's Son time For Yesterday and Kobayashi Maru
