Protesters in southern Italy have clashed with police during demonstrations sparked by poor conditions at a local rubbish dump. The government blamed the facility's state on bad management from a regional operator.
Prime Minister Berlusconi promised a fast solution to the crisis in Terzigno, where protesters have set vehicles ablaze, burned Italian flags and hurled stones and firecrackers at police. Berlusconi pledged millions of euros in compensation and denied there has been any health risk to residents.

This is a difficult time for Europe and Italy.
In countries where the economic crisis was still far away is now very close.
The European people are tired and do not want to sacrifice their life.
A Terzigno the situation is very hot and all that fire and explosions called "fuochi di artificio" used for happy new year.
The night is long and hard in Terzigno.
