Castlemilk 2006

I took these pics after a 17yr absence from Castlemilk,I was stunned to see what had happened to my old close,and especially Machrie Rd.All the tenements are down and the wee shops are gone.Pics are in areas of Castlemilk Dr,Machrie Rd,and croftfoot rndabout.

@azzageht  I was at #64 Castlemilk Drive from 1970-1980.Was amazed at how much the old place has changed..especially all the old close's that are gone from the Drive & Machrie.

burooo,I can understand your wife's decision to not go back.I walked around the entire area and almost got lost,so many little houses have popped up, that it threw me off.

I walked past landmarks I knew as a kid and they didn't even register with me.

Born in 63 left in 80 but was back and forth to mammie 152 croftfoot Road moved to Wales 10years ago after a choice with my wife seeing this wish i had come home maybe yet

Loved the video and recognised all the places even though the old place has changed beyond everything I was born and brought up in. I left Castlemilk in the early 80's and don't think I would live there again.
