My god mother was shot while on the phone while her husband was trying to kill her. It was in the Inman Police Parking Lot. Ruby Neil, the woman, was shot infront of her parents and 2 children.

She should have had a gun! Everybody knows that you absolutely cannot depend on the police or 911 to protect you. Anyone who depends on them alone is just plain stupid.
Obviously tragic ending though....

you cant blame 911, as much as you want to blame someone, there only pshyco you can blame and thats the killer. this is a fucked up world we live in.

What I hate is the fact that nothing is ever done until after the fact. I'm referring to the revamping of the 911 system there.
Even when departments know they have a slacker employee for example, they feel they can't do anything until something major happens. And in this case, it was a tragedy.
Employees also hesitate to "rat" on another for anything serious, but when you don't you are just as culpable as the faulty employee because you had knowledge that couldv'e prevented the incident.

Olidia Kerr Daye was on her cell phone and the closest transmission by the cell tower for her 911 call was to the police in the town of Sunrise, instead of Plantation where she lived. Knowing this, I just created a speed dial # for my LOCAL police department. That cell tower transmission to police in another town, and then having to be transferred to police in her own town, cost precious moments that could have saved Olidia's life.
