These boats are going as fast as 40 miles per hour at times, in the middle of the night! These boats have small crews, are designed for all conditions, and are built almost entirely of carbon. One person died during this iteration of the race, and one boat was lost.

@gyrrarrk How much have you sailed? Go get a log book, get the skipper to sign it, how well can you handle being alone, no sleep, missing family and home like hell.. cold, wet, noisy, soul breaking sailing.. this is the edge of life itself. Your mad if you dont do it, crazy if you do. Basically get out sailing, move around from club to club, get noticed. Skipper of Puma was hand picked from the shore, sailing small boats he cut through the pack like a knife, exactly what a big team needed.

What's the best route to start getting into this level of the sport, any advice?

I've dominated multiple sports, some of which I am growing tired like extreme soloing (mountain climbing without guide or safety ropes) big wave surfing (without tow-ins) and rapid kayaking.

Sailing looks like it could be the next big thing for me, I am the kind of person where the sport I'm working to master, no matter what stage of life I'm in, becomes all consuming and takes over my life to a point its unhealthy.
