Deuteronomy 14:21, we find the Law on unbled flesh states, "You (Jews) shall not eat anything which dies of itself. You may give it to the alien who is in your town so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner." We see that the law on eating unbled flesh and pouring out the blood applied ONLY to the Jews, since aliens and foreigners (Gentiles) were free to eat of it. It was in the context of the nation being separate and not do what the gentiles did around them.

@eternityandforever blood? your saying that Gods people where eating blood or as the blood sacrificial animal blood..which blood exactly do they mean - btw..jews NEVER have interpret the OT the way JW have..read all of Leviticus - blood is - if i remember always about what was being killed for sacrifice...blood does NOT equal disease, in fact i guarantee you that it saves more lives that even kills..btw..fractions of blood is still blood - wtbs allows for that..how funny is that

@rhdtv2002 ACTUALLY,it does add up real good.MOSES was educated with the Egyptians-real pagan religious ways,THEN Moses became God's SPOKESMAN! HOW about the apostle PAUL,who even approved of the death of STEPHEN! He was turning in the disciples,being very cruel to them,DRAGGING them out of their HOMES! MANY disciples were ungodly and came to an accurate knowledge of truth-and now we serve Jehovah and preach the good news about God's name=keep it holy and the kingdom is coming-Matthew 6:9,10

@rhdtv2002 Acts 15:29 says to abstain from things sacrificed to idols,from fornication,and from blood.In the next verse it says,"GOOD health to YOU!! Why would it say that next if it isn't good for us to follow those things! FORNICATION=unwanted pregnancies, diseases,BLOOD=diseases, blood rejection,and 50% death rate within a year of transfusion.WE are still under this law.THAT'S WHY it is mentioned in the first place.OF course, there are those who want a way out...as we have heard today!

@Yuratchka God's laws are good for us to consider-GOD made us and KNOWS how we 'tick'. If the manufacturer of a car says don't use diesel it's not for that car, YOU would listen to those directions, right?? WELL, then, HOW MUCH more so if GOD-the creator says DO NOT USE BLOOD.Each persons DNA and hormones, plus any diseases, known or unknown are in THAT BLOOD!! YOUR body has a high chance of rejection.ABOUT 50% of people who get a transfusion die from complications of 'rejection' within a year!

I think not allowing one to have blood to keep them alive is one of the most cruel things about the Jehovah Witnesses movement.

Even Judaism, which received the commandments and had them for thousands of years, won't go that far.
