I attempted to correct the damaged horizontal hold problems with the orginal video footage and set the trip to GNU music from that decade.

It is wild to see the people running all disorganized as the traffic light nor traffic rules had yet top be invented. Chaos in the streets and it is likely many many people died. Now a days if you cross the yellow line some state highway patrol officer freaks out like Officer Rivieri. Not that the bad news cops in this video look any sweeter.

The town really bustles in a mix between model-t and horse drawn wagons as the trolly car makes its way through the city.

Imagine the smell wood and coal stoves cooking up dinners. Image the fumes of gasoline 4 cylider model-t engines and horse dung as it dusted through the nostrils and the smell of the people who did not bath. All this on a warm San Franciso day under your fancy derby hat and jacket. Or maybe a corsette.

It is interesting to see the curiosity of the people for the new fangled invention of a film camera. It is also neat to see how many police officers there are along the streets which leads one to reflect on the days of the wild wild west.

Anyway enjoy the film and the thought provoking and inspirational message at the end. After all, everyone in the film had their shot at life.

In 1906 this area was devastated by a major earthquake in which many of those you see in this video died.

  • Don't be sad. We all get to spin on this world for a while. It was what they did while they were here that counted. Just as what we do while we are here counts.

5 generations just like that one came and exited. Enjoy life and do good, right?

    Thanks for commenting.

  • "neo+helden" love the login

    "new heros"

  • NICE JOB..

  • thanks

  • there all just getting on with it and making the most of what they got , how many travel offences are being made here? at least they had some freedom to what we have today , get fined for farting these days heh

  • Actually a sizable number of people were run over by horses and cars, so the lack of organization and freedom had its cost. Of course people were more responsible for their own safety.

Additionally they were getting on with it but one year later many died in an earthquake.

You should also note that life expentancy for males was 48.4 and females was 51.8.

Employers treated people terribaly back then. It wasn't better, trust me. Grass is greener theory.
