Well...EVERYONE knows you never serve fresh rat on sliced tomatoes...it simply isnt done!!. Kudos for Blanche for recognizing this culinary faux pas!!!

a great actress does not need to be pretty. and the point of this film is that they're both older and past their prime. when both actresses were young they were gorgeous. but this movie would not have made any sense if they were both young.

I like the part when Jane tells blanche that there are rats in the cellar because she stares at that tray (at 1:05 ) thinking "no, she couldn't have done that"

They're older ladies. Older ladies often point out that they were gorgeous in their YOUTH as that's when people usually look their best. And their looks don't matter in this.
