  • I thought these things were camless engines...or is that the RTflex series?

  • Its the exhaust cam. The flex engine is common rail so it doesnt have a fuel cam. this isnt a flex engine.

  • Fabulous engineering! I've always wanted to go below in a big vessel. Now I know how huge this component is. It is awseome how small human beings with imagination and will can do things on such a grand scale. Of course we are capable of foul behaviour, but somewhow this video honours us at our best. I hope this comment makes some kind of sense.

  • That is allot of Lube!!!!

  • @psychotikpaisano thats the sad part. lol you could probably crush a couple civics in the crank case too. lol

  • thats alot of oil. There is more oil in just one piston there than there is in the sump of my V6

  • @highdeserthater

    I like your comment!

That single lobe probably weighs as much as a honda!

  • reminds me of sex: slow, wet and lubricated

  • that is some crazy lift at valve :)

  • next time some poser thinks their honda is cammed, they need to check this out. lol gotta love the slow running smash your bones diesel raw TORQUE!

  • Compared to the vale injector video: It looks like the closing of the exhaust valve is not as fast as the closing of the fuel injector. The returning of the roller guide is slower at the end of the stroke, just before closing of the valve. I just finished my engine cadet period. Not THAT experienced;)

  • Now THAT is massive....

  • Is it just because it's dark i can't see the roller guide or does Sulzer use a different setup?

How do you reverse it with this cam profile? Can you slide the cam axial to use another cam or is this for a CCP ship?
