Transformer 3D - HD 720p

My latest transformer, this is the first one done in Maya. It might be my last as I feel I have reached the level I aspired to reach two years ago.

Rendered in HD with mental ray. Took a few weeks to put toghether.

How did you design the transformer mate? Im trying to make one myself, but i cant seem to figure out what comes out of where, did you start off with the car shape, or the human shape, finding it well hard, any hints would be extremely useful thanks mate

What comes out of where is something that you will have to figure out by yourself but I usually design the robot first. Then I make the shell/vehicle form.

Next step involves tons of planning, cram the full robot inside... how does the robot transform? What car parts go where? Do I want to model car parts like a motor, wheel axels etc for authenticity? These are questions you will have to answer yourself.

you should focus on the design of the transformer, It transformers good but it looks like a pile of junk just glued together. Same goes to the car, it looks like a toy car reject

The animation is geat.. render is ok. But i think the design could have been better just my personal opionion. I prefer the more blocky oldschool look :) did you render this in one pass or multiple render leyers ?

I dont care what nobody says I think this is pretty tight! everybody says that is saying it could be better dont have any videos to show what they can do cus they cant do a damn thing but keep it up

yes he is true , look at the movie , the robot must have many rigid and larg Solid part it make the structure appear stronger , but with many pieces it sound week ,

but honestly it is great job < I am 3d designer using solidworks , 3d max but i can't do what you did

wow! i know everybody is saying it is great.. but i have to say, that this is one of the top 3 own made transformer animation. i also tried to do one... but it isnt nearly as good as yours.. watch it and rate it.. you can choose between two versions.. (HD or in stereoscopic 3d) pls give me tips.
