Taking the Nazarite vow almost mean becoming an ascetic, which Jesus certainly was not...since he associated with "sinners," women, and people considered "outcasts" by the Pharisees and Sadducee. He raised the dead, drank wine with "sinners" and religious leaders of his days called him a "drunk." Now, John the Baptist from all indications was a Nazarite.

Actually "no." Nazarite Vow was based on Old Testament Numbers Ch. 6. where a vower taker has to separate himself from associating with women, drinking wine, avoid dead bodies, etc and etc. However, Jesus did everything which was forbidden in the Vow. Reason? He was fulfiller of the Old Testament, breaking immeasurable gulf which separated sinner from God up to this time. "Yes," he was called Nazarene, perhaps after the Last Supper 'til the Cross; temp. vow...
