http://www.ted.com Pastor, philanthropist and author Rick Warren reflects on how the success of his book The Purpose-Driven Life triggered his own crisis of purpose. What should he do with this unanticipated wealth and attention? Warren uses his own story to explain the central tenet of his teaching: that the antidote to spiritual emptiness is recognizing what we have been given -- wealth, creativity, talent -- and using those gifts to make the world a better place.

"God smiles when you are you"....ahahaha....he knows this how? how can any individual attempt to know what a supreme, "non-existent" being feels or does? That is ridiculous, I'm all for people gaining a sense of security, Just don't take advantage of peoples naiveness. you don't need "god" to feel better. Religion is easily the most effective way to get people to feel better about themselves, give them purpose, and get some money out of it. RW, you are riding the money wagon, enjoy it!
I like the last minute, where he starts talking about how God feels when you do things. I like that... the constant pleas of his own humility, and then claims that he knows the mind of God.
Isn't the Bible still the best-selling book in history? This is exactly the kind of self-aggrandizement with a thin gloss of humility that I find very off-putting about religious leaders.
look man, from where do you think cancer surfaces in a body??? duh? answer: from stress. now can you imagine being married to RW? My mother passed away from cancer, given to her by her husband. RW is toxic period.
Who exactly is this guy who claims to be able to discern whether people are 'living' or 'existing'? He's just a (failed) actor in the movie called 'KryzMasta's Life'... I cut most of his line out of the movie though, it didn't really work out very well. ;-)

However I must say that Warren is extremely influential. Understanding him, is to understand the power of religion.
