An interview with Odessa Toma, an American woman from Louisiana who married a Romanian man and moved to Romania with him. This is the story of the sacrifices they are making in order to be able to live in the country and of the way she copes and has gotten accustomed to living here.

This is the seventh episode of "Romania Through Their Eyes", a show featuring interviews with foreigners living in Romania. The show's purpose is to present Romania as foreigners see it, which will lead to a greater understanding of the issues facing Romanians and Romania.

Odessa's website is: http://odessatoma.blogspot.com.

---

  • It's sad to hear all those bad things about politicians and corruption, bad hospitals and things like that.But I guess she was right about all those things she said especially when she said that romanians leave because theres nothing to do here.Thats why I left for the states, thats why millions of romanians left the country for a better living, of course what romanian doesn't miss some sarmale or some mici haha.I'm definitely gonna show this to my friends.God bless you and Odessa!

  • @marcusmihai09 Thank you!

  • Love is so powerful,strong than any religion,countries,or skin colour,any person could be married with another person from this Earth...and congratulations to Mr.Toma,he have a beautiful wife! good luck both,in this life,if you want to live in Romania!~

    ---D-le Raoul Pop ar trebui sa puneti subtitrare in lb.romana cand aveti timp,asa poate sa fie mai bine intelese si de altii aceste documentare al dvs (foarte interesante de altfel) eu le urmaresc si va urez succes in continuare

  • She has balls, excuse my expresion.You ''guys'' need to learn from her.

  • @Jammanich it's not that bad actually. It's quiet here, but I like that! :)

  • I live in Constanta and it's very quiet too, no expats. Tulcea must be hard to live in.

  • You did a good job Ode.. That's why I live in the Philippines..

  • @odessat There's no doubt about that; I see the bad things you mention every day. The incoming elections circus is showing all the dirt: the "famous" military-economic complex, the lobbyist influences and so on... Hopefully, in US law (still) rules and corrupt politicians here are thrown to garbage, unlike of what I see happening in Romania. I am a optimist and I hope the good people will have a better life there.

  • @neutrino741 There are lots of bad things about the U.S. too, please don't think that I was trying to say that only Romania has all the bad things.

  • @chautona Im sute you can talk Kevin into it!!!!

  • @Danezu28 Yeah, I'll stay in my quiet solitude for now, & visit da noise from time to time ptr. distractia plăcută!!! (;

  • @VeronicaOltean Come on over - ill make you some crap!!!! (;

  • @M4nimal. Actually because Tulcea is smaller, it's not so westernized, and more of the cultural heritage & traditions haven't been diluted. I love it here!
