I don't get this video. I mean everyone knows this is blatently false (there are many practical applications of evolution as well as the other mentioned fields) and that Richard Dawkins doesn't think this. I can't even consider this a parody video, it's more of a POE - creationists have been parroting this for so long.
Please explain what motivated this video or what idea was behind it.. is there something I missed? (except the "lets laugh at Dawkins the old codger" - and I did laugh a bit.)
@8DX I read the talkorigins article. yes, this is a POE. Re:"Much of" that makes it more of a POE. I mean: to say that much of astronomy has no practical application would be to ignore the practical scientific advances in other fields (physics, chemistry, etc) gained while studying astronomy. Right. So now I've established that the only context in which these statements make any sense is as a kind of concession after the strong refutation provided in the article. But idiots won't click the link.
