my 406 110 bhp has 204,000 miles on clock....great engine....electrics very shabby...also great fun changing front ball joints...very bad design.

Two years ago I changed low-pressusre fuel pump. It was complitly worn and finding it out wasn't so easy. It appeared that there's another filter in the fuel tank. We've never changed it so the pump just had to die. I also had problem with clutch servo mechanism. The fluid leaked while driving to the airport...

That's the list of all 'disadventures' that happened to my car for 11 years. Not much I suppose.

@Zayjug i had passat 00year 2.5tdi 110kw year ago and i was very happy about it .. now i have 406 1.9td 98year and im impressed about the engine but the suspension and interior is a nightmare

My father owns a 406 since December 1999. Now I'm driving it. Rear suspension was repaired once, maybe a month ago. In spite of the fact that our roads are in incredibile bad condition, for 11 years, there was no problem about it. I consider it to be very durable. However, elecric devices are more unreliable.

I've heard many bad opinions about B5's front suspension.
