BNP Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque Beaten by Police, 6 July, 2011

Zainul Abdin Farroque, the opposition chief whip and one of the most vocal against government among the party leaders, has been repeatedly baton-charged in front of the national parliament house Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on the first day of 48-hours long hartal on Wednesday.




It has been reported that a retreating chief whip after brutalization took shelter at the MPs' housing blocks just beside the national house office, where too there was a police raid and the top opposition lawmaker endured another barrage of beating.




Left to bleed from a wounded nose, the chief whip had to be admitted to a hospital, where his carriers again faced police obstruction and eventual beating. The latest blow injured Shammi Akhter and Shamsunnahar Chumki, the two opposition lawyers, too.

Certainly it is unfortunate but for sure it is not the whole truth. Not to talk about Mr. Farooq, listen the language of women MP's. Why hartal should be imposed on common people? Do they realize the suffering of a common man during hartal. And what the political parties gain out of these hartal. I hate to say it but to me a person need it if choose to increase the suffering of common man.
