More information for you:
Try to ensure that the pick-up element lead is not touching the body of the Uke - Have it rest against the jack socket cable instead.
Make sure that the saddle is not tight fitting in the bridge. It needs to easily squeeze up against the pick-up element without the bridge causing any friction. I had this problem after 2 weeks. It cause my A string to sound quieter than my other strings. It was a quick easy fix though.

@KenMiddletonUkulele I was nervous Ken! With adequate tools it was OK. You just need to be careful not to split or chip the finish because it can flake off by an extra mm or 2. Being made of acacia, it was fairly robust stuff.

You might notice that I have a couple of dents - I did drop this down some stairs once!!! This pickup does have a built in tuner too which is nice.
