Boris puts cycle prototype through its paces

The Mayor has put a prototype London cycle hire bike to the test. Next summer 6,000 of the bikes will flood central London. With its distinctive design and sturdy handling he is sure it is a bike that will encourage thousands more Londoners to use two wheels to get from A to B. This weekend (9 to 11 October 2009) visitors to the London Cycle show at Earls Court will be able to take four of the prototype bikes for a spin around a test track and take a simulator ride along one of the Mayors Cycle Superhighways.
