The Vampira beat poem scene from "The Beat Generation" (1959) produced by Albert Zugsmith, the same man behind High School Confidential! from the previous year. One thing is for sure...Vampira's no Phillipa Fallon...

  • and now HD!! Time changed so fast

  • I thought the poem was good.

  • Lousy poem...lucky white rat on Vampira's chest, though.

I'm wondering about the guy complaining to Jackie Coogan about "fake Bohemia" - what's he contrasting it with? Jazz Age Paris? Weimar Berlin? Post-War Vienna?

  • FYI: Her name is Maila Nurmi. As Vampira she was in "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and briefly hosted horror movies on TV. The bald gent at the table is Jackie Coogan, aka Uncle Fester from The Addams Family. Which is ironic as the Vampira character was inspired by Charles Addams' drawings of Morticia. Many thanks for posting this.
