I listen to his songs and it reminds me of when my mom was dating my dad and he would serenade her with his songs back in the early 70's . My dad is no longer with us but he left me the love for the old school music. He was a great dad, miss the good old days!!!
i remember in the 60's 70's listening to the tejano sound. i was a little boy always getting into my familys music. freddie was the 8 track that i listened to always. the sound had a unique! style! just fell in love with the music. born in texas! and raised in new mexico! just got to love the great music! oh! avizo! is the powerhouse!!!
Everyone my age (21), always make fun of me for listening to "Old Music" but you know what, I can't think of any other kind of music to listen to, I guess its kinda of odd for someone my age to listen to Freddie Martinez, Carlos Guzman, Joe Bravo, Steve Jordan, Sunny Ozuna and so on... the list goes on!!! Thank god for bringing these guys into this world for making such great music!!!! Gracias a mi tio for introducing this music to me as a little kid, since then I've loved it more and more!!!
Freddie, I use to listen to you when i was a little kid back in the seventies in a very small town in Michoacan called El Limon. There was only one jukebox in town and people would select your songs Las Naranjas y Las Ubas and Te Traigo estas flores" all day long on sundays. The kids ( I was one of them) would play marbles just outside the ice cream parlor to hear the music all afternoon.
we in seguin tx. love your music. i remember growing up at my mother's house she would play your music now i am grown and i find myself just injoying your music. love u alway's. hope to see u in seguin tx. soon.

@moyo112 There is a guy in Annaville(west part of Corpus Christi on I-37) that you might try and see if he has Freddy Martinez CDs. I dont remember the guys name but he sells alot of hard to find CDs at the flea market in the old Wal-Mart store in Annaville. I bought quite a few very hard to find Laura Canales material from him. If someone goes to the flea market, best way to find him is when entering the front door, turn left on the first isle and he is on the end close to where they sell pets.
