@LaMisereHQ Honestly, it normally would enhance the performance of Christine's big night...but umm... i think there were other areas Dale could have improved on her performance as opposed to holding out a note that went a bit off key at the end. I think in her particular performance, it just made the aria a bit odd rather than impressive, this is just my opinion though :-) I did see Dale several times ( she was the first Christine i ever saw ) and she had her great moments as well!

Why was the sustained note a problem? If it's because you think she was showing off, then you're right. XD Dale has openly said "that's Christine showing off and also Dale showing off, which Dale likes to do sometimes." She was honest and that honesty makes me celebrate the fact she could hit and sustain such a note instead of becoming jealous. =P It should have been shortened only if it somehow adversely affected the scene. As Christine's big, triumphant night, I think it enhances it.

@gavrochemm I saw her perform in Phantom 4 times in LA and I have to agree with you that she could have shortened the end. Just because you can do something does not mean you should do it.
