@Azlaier They feel pain, but there isn't emotion to it like humans have. It's basically, "Get me the fuck outta here! Ouch! Ouch!" and then after you're done hurting it, twenty seconds later it's like, "Whoop-dee-doo, I'm a fucking goldfish."

Just anesthetize the fish. Even if pain were like that for you, I'm sure you would rather not go through it.

Just so everyone knows, fish don't have the developed nervous system like we do to feel pain. This did not hurt the fish.

Al agua se le puede inyectar co2 para adormecer al pez por lo menos,segundo, no habia necesidad de arrancarle semejante pedazo al pobre animal ,eso sale con solo estriparlo con la uña o pinzas luego deshinfectar,eso es muy comun en goldfish, es como los barros de la juventud que se hacen en la cara.Saludos desde Costa Rica.

@CCCPWolfGuard I read in my goldfish book, they do. I'm not sure how, I think only emotional pain though when something traumatic happens to them, they go into shock and even become depressed, it sounds funny I know because they are fish but they do have feelings too and when they are not happy or sick, they sit on the stones staring out of the tank and don't swim or feel like eating :(
