If a republican said that he would cause a nuclear war if elected, you would vote for him anyways. Because to look at the other party, requires some thought and a open mind. It's only been used once and is very expensive and dangerous, so it is not like a new treatment option for current patients. The article is titled "Long-term control of HIV by CCR5 Delta32/Delta32 stem-cell transplantation"

"As a person of faith" poor Obama.. theres no way hes religious at all. Sad he has to sugar coat it. I am 100% convinced that he has to hide that hes an atheist.. because no one in stupid fucking America which is overrun by Christians would knowingly elect an atheist and someone who favors valid science over their bronze age bullshit. Aren't most of the embryos they get donated by people who don't want them anymore? Hey, as long as people aren't being used as livestock to get this, I don't see any problem with this.

A cure for HIV huh thats funny I work in medicine and have heard nothing of new advancements for the curing of this disease. If there was a cure for HIV im pretty sure this would be worldwide news: unless you actually have actual evidence proving this case?

These cells will never be anything more than medical waste. Why? B/C people believe that these microscopic blastocysts are a fully grown human being with the potential of growing up into have fully functioning charactersitics of a human-which in fact they will not because the cells that are not used will only be disposed of. So why not let scientists experiment with these cells to help save lives!? This research has been halted since reagan was in office!

Reason being? Because of the ethical dilemma and challenges researchers face with people like yourself who will not give it a chance because you think that these cells are human which in fact they will never even have the potential of becoming human!

Because these cells can develop into virtually any type of tissue, they are more impressionable than adult stem cells.

Stem Cells are used to help in producing brand new tissue & can even cure specific ailments completely, which presently do not have a proper therapy thereof. Some of the diseases that witnessed a remarkable advancement are Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, cancer, arthritis..

Pluripotency distinguishes embryonic stem cells from other stem cells such as, adult stem cells that are just multi-potent (which means the adult stem cells are limited to what they can create); embryonic stem cells are particularly promising for medical science because of this fact.
