Otto Nordenskjöld 100 Years - Breaking heavy pack ice to make it there.
The famous Swedish Explorer was shipwrecked in 1902 off the coast of Snowhill Island on the Eastern Antarctic Peninsula. The crew spent two winters in a self-built hut.
One hundred years later, with 40 of Nordenskjöld's Grandchildren, the author joined this beautiful memorial expedition to a rarely visited part of Antarctica.
I,ve just listened to great BBC Radio programme about Nordenskjold expedition.
I downloaded it on my computer. So if anyone is interested I can send it (MP3).
There is also movie about the expedition - "Trapped in the end of the world" but I haven't seen it yet.
