This toy was described as providing 'hours of entertainment' for dogs. However my ACD worked out how to get the treats in minutes! You can see that she is really intent on the task!

  • Clever and Australian Cattle Dog in the same sentence? Repetetive and redundant!

  • smarter than the person who designed the ball

  • GREAT ! :-) the way she shakes the ball when it's in the right position ! amazing !

  • @m1t2a1 The word you are looking for it "tautology"

  • At first I thought she was just rolling it until it came to rest hole down, then shaking it to get it out. I couldn't work out why sometimes she seemed to roll it for ages before tyring to get the treat out.

Then I realised she was stopping it and then rolling it back so it wasn't just hole down, but hole down on a crack between the tiles so the treat could fall out. That's some pretty solid analysis right there.

  • The female version of my dog Ajax.. these ACD's are just oo brilliant, thats what I love about them.

  • I love ACDs. I have a mixed one...or so I believe. She has all the personality of a ACD. She's smart, too smart I think!

  • what is the name of this toy?? I'm looking forward to getting my first cattle dog

this week- i have horses, but need something to keep the dog occupied!!

That is the funniest thing at 1:24 with her paw on the ball

  • LOLOL - I have an Australian Cattle Dog and had a similar experience with the same ball! But FIRST he removed the tiny things in each hold that make it a little more difficult for the treat to fall out... gotta love him... <3

  • I just got a ACD which was a throwaway pup. He looks exactly like this dog! He's about seven months, just got neutered, and is a love bug. He and his bud, a rough collie, are now country dogs and we are so lucky to have them.

  • yah im actually scared of how smart they are

  • My ACD Marty always comes when called and is one of the most loyal, trustworthy dogs I have ever seen. He knows how to 'say his prayers' to get a treat, and when someone says walk or treat he barks excitedly. He also likes to play 'Matador', where he grabs your heel very gently in his mouth and play-growls while you shake him off and he latches on again, and if you tell him to stop he stops, sits and looks at you. They are scary intelligent and tough dogs.
