  • @castoni2 I wish I'd seen your comments sooner! For insight I would definitely engage Clement Rosset's _Joyful Cruelty_ particularly the chapter "Notes on Nietzsche" but all three essays are great and, I think, offer the insights you may be looking for...Enjoy!

  • @castoni2 Nietzsche praised Aeschylus and his work in terms of tragedy because Aeschylus was one of the three great Greek tragedians and his work was tragedy in a technical sense. In what other terms would Nietzsche have been able to praise Aeschylus?

Besides this, I can tell you that Nietzsche saw in Euripides' tragedies the beginning of decadence in Greek tragic art. Here the elements that Nietzsche admired in Aeschylus and Sophocles were lacking - or overthrown.

  • Could you help me? Where is this music/choir from? Is it specially made for Oresteia? Many thanks for your reply!

  • I would like to know why Nietzsche praised Aeschylus and his work in terms of tragedy. Any insight into this would be useful to me. If you could even reference artistic creation that'd be great also.
