@n2wishinn Oh it was really the phone guy, he just hated dogs and my heidi (that was my dog's name) knew it. He fixed my phone and left.

@honeegrrl listen closely to what your akita is trying to tell you, they are excellent judges of character!! :) <3

how about making a video of some rescue akitas? I love your clips, but I would love to see what you would do with some less conventional, nonconforming non show dog pictures! Please keep making movies, you are good at it! ~Rhonda in Nevada who is in your facebook group. :)

I have an eleven year old big male Akita. The breed is loyal, intuitive, intelligent, and protective. Akitas do not nuisance bark. I love the personality of the breed. They need a gently strong owner who is determined to be gently dominant. They will try to please you if both of you know you are the boss. Akitas need a fenced yard or on leach when outside as the breed tends to same sex dominance. The dog is powerful, on leash can drag the owner down if confused and thinks you meant go.

@maharley27 They originated out of Japan.

I had a full bred akita and she was friendly to everyone, well except for the phone guy, lol. The phone guy didn't like dogs and she knew it. She wanted to attack him. I had to put her outside because he had to come in the house to fix the phone.

Hey they look great but I just wanted to know. Did you get your Akita as a puppy? I would like to buy one for my parents when they retire as they require a good, big guard dog. However, I don't want them biting any stranger as I will be coming into the house and may have a dog of my own. How are they character wise? I heard they are dominant and can be stubborn? Sorry for the many questions but my parents are very friendly and I am not sure if they can handle such a big and dominant dog. Thanks.
