  • one KICK ASS old warbird !! The best helicopter EVER made..PERIOD!! It served our guys in Vietnam and still continues to serve the people of California 40 years later.. That in itself is a statement on the dependability and quality of the Huey.

  • What the difference between an H-model and a V-model? Is it the fire fighting mod?

  • 495DF was a UH-1V.

    I helped build it.

  • 495DF was a UH-1V

  • @G2GPavehawk it is

  • @G2GPavehawk they use it for coast guard

  • I wonder if this a former Air Force HH-1H? Anyone know?

  • That thing would loosen my plaque and gimme a stroke. It's still very cool, tho.

  • Children Defense Fund

  • Man, EVERYTHING looked better back when we were still CDF. The new patch, the new stripe, the new aircraft paint jobs, they all look like crap. And the "CAL FIRE" on the side of the rigs looks like a sign for a plumber or something (Firefighters? No, ma'am were "Calfire Roofing"). Okay, my rant is over...no, one more thing: of all the names they could have come up with, why did it have to be CalTrans in fire engines? Why, oh why? Oh well.
