An African crisis worse than Darfur - 14 Nov 07

A UN official in Mogadishu says Somalia now constitutes the worst humanitarian crisis in Africa - worse than Darfur.

An estimated 173,000 people have fled fighting in Mogadishu in just the past two weeks alone, bringing the total number of displaced people in the country to 850,000.

Not only are refugees overwhelming areas outside Mogadishu, wounded civilians are flooding local hospitals.

more than 3 million Somalis died in Somalia since 1991. the Darfur issue is recent while the Somali civil war has been continuing for almost 20 years. how are they compatible.

Darfur is even worse not like Somalis because Govt armed one side in more than 30 years cuz of fears but now it just got worst because neglected tribes resolved to rebellious.
