  • I'm curious on what plantation do your ancestors come from in Louisiana? My grandparents (minus 1 grandfather) are Louisiana creoles and so are many of my cousins and friends. They all call themselves AFRICAN AMERICAN even the ones with fair complexions. These are people from PORT BARRE, OPELOUSAS, etc even LAFAYETTE, (thats not BACKWOODS) who still speak (broken/creole) FRENCH ALL THE TIME what are you talking about? MY CULTURE is WELL ALIVE!!!

  • All of My Ancestors are from Louisiana & We come from all over the State. For Your info, Ms know it all, More Creoles live outside of Louisiana than there are living in the State. We Come from New Iberia, Franklin, New Orleans , Lake Charles, Ruston & Dubac. All Of Our Ancestors spoke Creole & not all come from plantations. Many were free. I live the Creole Life style & I keep in touch with My Creole Community whenever I get the chance. My Great Grand Ma is a full blooded Choctaw Indian

  • @creole17 I do not call Myself African American because I am a Proud Creole and not African American.. I am Black, without a doubt and I have never denied that , but I honor Our Heritage and Identify as a Creole because that's what I am .. You cannot be African American and Creole ...You are either one or another...They are two different lifestyles..You can call Yourself what You want that's not for Me to say but I have that same right .so respect it

  • @augustinecomeaux I respect you for that sir, but I have 1 QUESTION? Is that fair to say that one cannot call themselves African American and Creole? Especially those who have a parent who is not creole and one who is?

  • @creole17 Creole is also a Culture...If one chooses to live a African American life style and does not practice a Creole Culture or Honor His Creole Heritage then Culturally He would certainly be African American..On the other hand if one chooses to identify as Creole and practices a Creole lifestyle then He is Creole...Thanks for Your understanding

  • I live in New Orleans this douche bag all he carries on his back that he is a creole saying it and living it are two things. You from chicago and now you in Cali for all I now i say your a mexican. Your speaking about creole's like you dont know shit about them... come over down here and you will really see what a french creole is all about..geux

  • @pedrowolcott26

For Your info, Mr Know it all, I know more about New Orleans than You will ever know..It's People like You, Louisiana transplants, that go around hating because everybody is not Black You...I am proud of My African Heritage & even more so about My Creole Heritage.I am proud to stand Up & You can't touch that.Maybe You need to wake up & Respect People & it will come back to You.Creoles are leaving the 7th ward daily because of Ignorant people like You.Get a life

You mentioned that you think Lousiana Creoles are the only people in the world with a triracial admixture of African, European, and Amerindian genes, however that's simply far from the truth.

My father's parents are from Northeastern Brazil, where the population is predominantly Creoles of the same admixture. You can also find Creoles of the same admixture in Peru, Cuba, Panama, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Puerto Rico, Martinique, Venezuela, Dominica, etc.

  • @flubno Wake Up...You are living in the Racist past...The Word "Creole" means to "Create".. In Spanish it's pronounced Creer and in Portugese it is Criollo..Historic Verified documents say it was a Word created by the African Slave to distinguish the first Born in the New World from those arriving later..The Europeans later adopted the word to indicate the First Europeans born in the New World..It's a Fact... Now go back and start reading Your History all over again...We know Ours Do You...

  • @augustinecomeaux Lastly sir, sorry to ramble on, but if you take a look at my wedding video, you would see that I am a proud black creole, who is a new orleans' native. I have family of all colors which you will see, who are creoles =). Be blessed and have a good one.

  • @augustinecomeaux Also Mr.Augustine,I also have family throughout louisiana we are all originally from louisiana. I'm a NEW ORLEANS NATIVE, specifically from Metairie. I grew up here in louisiana as well as in Japan til I was 15. My parents brought me back in louisiana and brought a plantation home in Nuba, LA. I am very familiar with my culture and my heritage. I just feel that you are being unfair and a little rude.

  • @augustinecomeaux So you are saying that they can't be a black creole? (Excuse me for saying African American, my mother taught me that this term was not correct since I'm not from Africa). Also how are creole people suppose to practice their culture? Black, White & Creoles in louisiana speak broken french all the time, they go to mass, they celebrate Mardi Gras so I'm confuse on what exactly how we, creoles/black creoles, are suppose to live to be "creole".
