I was 10 years old and had just noticed Star Trek TNG as they aired it on Fox every night of the week during that time. I saw this movie opening weekend in theaters and it had a fan crowd like I'd never seen before. People actually clapped when Chang's ship was destroyed. I'll never forget how new it was to me back then. The theater actually had a model Enterprise and a model Bird of Prey with battle damage hanging from the ceiling in the lobby, and played the soundtrack to VI constantly.

This was easily the best Star Trek movie. ST4 was good too.

Wow, 20 years old already. Holy cow, it's hard to believe it's been that long. I saw this in the theater when I was almost 13. It was friggin' EPIC on the big screen.
