The singer is supposed to represent Rose Murphy, a jazz vocalist in the '40s who was known as the "Chi-Chi Girl" (because of the way she "scatted" her vocals with "chi-chi", or other wordless sounds- Frankie Valli also emulated her in his "Wonder Who?" vocals [with The Four Seasons] in 1965-'66).
