It's very surprising to me how the guards can so easily describe every little detail of what they said and did to the prisoners. It makes me question their mentality as individuals today. If I had to put my self in a guards position I would be too shameful and upset with myself to even talk about it.

It's so sad to even know that the US was at war with Cambodia's liberators, too. Nixon even had Cambodia bombed... ...so shameful.
I'm glad humanity still has smart people who've taken the blindfolds from their eyes and see truth in things, such as history.

It's everyone's fault. US, China, UN, Viet, KR, Sihanauk, Lon Nol - everyone in the list did nothing right over the period. KR is the most responsible for the killing. No doubt about it.

Thanks to Vietnamese government, if without them, all Cambodian people are no longer exist. I was in Cambot in 1987, after the war, it was miserable for Combodian people

good documentary. very heartfelt and personal. it was weird how they were kind of role-playing though.. re-living what they've done. especially the former guards. it also strikes me how calm the victims are around the former guards.

I am American and I feel so ashamed that we helped Pol Pot. He was a monster, I can't imagine what it was like under his rule. I am sorry you lost your father.
