Summary: Biosecurity Under the Rule of Law: National and Global Perspectives on Naturally Occurring and Manmade Infectious Diseases

Professor Gostin has led major law reform initiatives for the United States government, including the Model Emergency Health Powers Act (MEHPA) to combat bioterrorism and other emerging health threats. As an elected lifetime member of the Institute of Medicine, he serves on its board on health promotion and disease prevention. Professor Gostin also consults for the World Health Organization and UNAIDS (a joint United Nations program on HIV/AIDS) and is a research fellow for the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford University. The latest of his numerous published books is The AIDS Pandemic: Complacency, Injustice, and Unfulfilled Expectations (2004).
