the most impressive thing to me that everyone overlooks is that ed was squatting 1000+ when you had to walk out of the rack. Now with the mono-lift they just unrack and squat

agreed. Chuck V is THE MAN, but Ed Coan is THE LEGEND. Some of Ed's feats will probably never be equaled in our lifetime, such as his 901@220 deadlift, or his 2408@220 total, both which were in SINGLE PLY. You can't compare the two.

Ed Coan: Shut Up, motherfucker! Let me enjoy the moment!

my greatest regret as a powerlifter is that i never got a chance to see him lift in person.

@fukidomev2 That's not a wide bench grip at all. Not sure what you're looking at.

cool looks like he didn't lockout the deadlift and your head isnt suposed to leave the bench what gimped rules does that contest have????

Does USPF have a rule against a slight head raise?
As far as the deadlift goes, he locked out his second attempt (same weight as the 3rd attempt in the video) but got two reds for some unexplainable reason. The 3rd was slightly less locked out but was still a good lift. I didn't necessarily think the judging was top notch at that meet.
