It's been more than a year since Fem Fatale was killed at Barber Motorsports Park while practicing for a race. She was a remarkable person- kind, fun loving, competitive, funny, and fast. A year has done little to sooth my heartache, and I don't often find ways to express the pain. Recently, a friend introduced me to Pearl Jam's Light Years, and I was floored. It says what I want to say about Sutton.

There are so many photos I wish I could have used- so many people I know Sutton would want to be a part of her remembrance. But I could only fit in so many. If you have photos of Sutton (or Sutton and you) you would like me to include the next time inspiration hits, send me a message through YouTube.

I do hope that Pearl Jam understands how beautifully their song represents Sutton and the life she lived. No words I could ever put together could ever capture the last 3 years of her life like their words do. No frame in this video is without significant meaning to the wide array of people who know and loved her, though few will get every frame.

She had such an impact on those who knew her- I only wish more people could have known the exceptional person known as Sutton...

  • Living without you has been harder that I ever could have imagined. This brief snapshot of your live cannot capture you. The kids and I talk about you often, and we miss you terribly. Thank you, Sutton. Thank you for sharing your live with us. I wish you were here.

  • Good For you Roosell. That is the way to remember someone. Celebrate the life they were given and remember how lucky you are to have had the time to spend together.

  • I pray she is resting peacefully & you continue to find ways to celebrate her. I first heard of this last year when the incident was posted on NESBA's forum.
