Watch this quick demo of cellulose insulation. It's treated with non-toxic fire retardants that prevent the insulation from catching fire. The guy doesn't burn his hand - try doing this with fiberglass or spray foam.

  • Not a "green" product at all. Not, that is, unless you consider open-pit borax mines to be "green".

  • Wow, can't believe you did that only with you hand! Make sure that the cellulose that you buy is made to standards and contains appropriate fire retardants such as Boric Acid otherwise it will go up like paper.

    the hell do you mean "other than the insulation". Its insulation, thats what its designed for. Would could be better at stopping the transfer of heat?
