Northern Lights (Lyra captured and taken to Bolvangar)

To go with my ending scene, this video is the scene that joins Lyra being captured and taken to Bolvangar. In the film, at the last moments New Line forced the order of the events to be changed, and Lyra was taken to the bears instead. Meaning that the children being saved was the climax of the film (not the opening of the bridge to the other worlds, like seen in my previous video).

Once again I've worked hard on this video, colour correcting the deleted scenes, trying to restore the audio to something a bit more comprehensible.

Footage was taken from the film and the deleted scene that appears in the computer game. Remember this is not the official cut and is fanmade. I hope you enjoy a glimpse of how the films should have flowed.

Music used is from the movie's soundtrack and is called Intercision.

This is so cool!!!! Love it! :) You could do an alternate beginning (y'know the cat scene in one of the trailers) . . . and personally I've always hated the beginning of the movie, it's so stupid and gives away so much before the movie even starts! You should be able to discover daemons on your own -- and discover everything as Lyra does. That would make for a much better movie, especially for people who en't (always wanted to say that) read the books! Good luck to you on this!

Unfortunatly hollywood isn't controlled by the want of fans, it's controlled by money. They would also have a lot of problems doing the second and third film as they'd have to fill in a lot of plot holes. A script for the second film was written, but they've sold all the props... etc, and New Line now belongs to Warner Bros due to the losses made by the Golden Compass.

they'll only do it if it makes money. And overal, for the people who matter, Golden Compass cost them a lot of money. So no... they dont need to do the others.

@EnergyUK Glad to hear that! :) If you're trying to get art for different scenes you could maybe use the video game. . .it has loads of artwork (such as Lyra's room and Mrs. Coulter's flat, if you're planning to do anything with those scenes.) But anyway, I'm defintely looking forward to seeing this when it's done -- I've always been an avid fan of HDM, and The Golden Compass especially. Well, keep up the good work!!!! :)

Great editing. Nice idea to make the guy (I think he's Dr. Cooper) look more creepy, it quite worked.

And to think that the only thing the movie needs to raise from regular to excellent is a new cut. A proper cut.

I still have a little hope of a director's cut someday, if they aren't going to make the next movies.
