@zamptor ye it was, most boxer's in that era were not defensively minded. A lot of them used their hand's to perry shots and not bobbin & weaving.Gene Tunney & Steele were the few boxers that used good foot work for defense. It wasn't until the 50's & 60's where we started to see boxers with their hands up. 50's was one of the best decades for boxing in terms of skill level.
