Me playing a quick game of RogueLight. Didn't do very well got from level 25 to 18.

You have to escape so you start at level25 and work your way up to level1.

  • The game looks nice, too bad it's not open source.

Trust me this is a complete mess. I threw loads of bits and bobs together, I doubt I could make any sense of it now. If I find the finished cap after my computer crash I'll post it up somewhere.

    Thanks :)

  • How long did it take before you managed to create something like this? It is epic.

  • This is my first ever complete game, I have made engines and stuff in the past but nothing "playable". Plus something about Construct just clicked, something that never happened when trying to learn any coding languages, Game Maker or Click Team products.

I think the whole thing took 3 months, but that included engine tests, Level Gen tests, graphics, planning & a rewrite when the levels wouldn't load correctly. Plus I'm a lazy git so the game went undevolped for a lot of that time too :).

  • Thanks for the comments :)

  • Thanks for the (quick) reply! :)

I hope Construct will click for me as well. Seems like a brilliant program, judging from stuff you and others have made in it. Seems to suit most of my needs (all I really want to do is create sidescrolling/platforming action-adventure games in a similar manner to the Wonderboy series...well, game III and forward). I just hope I will be able to learn it properly before losing interest or feeling it's hopeless.

  • the daffy duck inspired greedy exclamations are a nice touch. 8) maybe i'll rip that off. 8)

  • dam 5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
