@hollabackitsobi Haitian Fight Song and II B.S. are the exact same composition. Mingus would sometimes change the name of his songs to fool the record companies.

@jibsmokestack1 Don't be so dogmatic. Sure Duke, Strayhorn, Mingus, etc. were great, but Shorter was/is an AMAZING composer. Personally, he's the one I prefer over all of the ones you mentioned (even though I ADORE Mingus). Duke's compositions don't sound as complex to me, and MIngus's compositions can get a bit samey (ie. Hatian Fight Song and II B.S.). Shorter's music shows plenty of complexity and what have you. Don't shortchange him.
