how cold does it have to be? i might get one, i live in chicago but there is almost no snow in my backyard in the winter because i have so many trees

Average equipment price will run about $600. Plus setting it up takes plenty of labor and it has to be cold enough to work (Floridians are out of luck). But is does produce real snow.

Yes, snowmakers are expensive and the temperature has to be cold enough or it doesn't work. I just use plastic SantaSnow when there's not enough white in my backyard. Looks plenty real and it's cheap.
