i've got the creative zen 30GB in white. it's pretty good, way better than an ipod. my ipod only lasted a few months...

I bought my brother a Zen Micro for Christmas. But I think a Pocket PC might be better if you want a portable video player.

Ah, but it's just so right for "meg" and "gig" because they sound like words in their own right (e.g. "meg" being a girl's name and a "gig" being a performance by a band).
The other ones just don't quite work as well, eh?
Sorry, I don't really know why I'm talking about this. It's not all that interesting. I guess I'm just bored with nothing to do at the moment. :D

What's interesting is that the next one in the sequence is the "terabyte" (yes, like "terror - byte").
That one can't be shortened to "ter" - just sounds too weird - although maybe people will say "tera". It could be made to work, I think: "The player comes in 4 or 8 tera versions".
It'll be interesting if we ever get to "petabytes", "exabytes" and "zettabytes".
What do you think, Zen?
Does "peta", "exa" and "zetta" as abbreviations sound right to you?

Something I just thought of watching this.
It's interesting that people say "meg" and "gig" for "megabyte" and "gigabyte".
But, like, no-one says "kil" for "kilobyte" (I suppose because, one, a kilobyte is so small by today's standards no-one needs the word and, two, saying "kill! kill! kill!" is going to give people the wrong impression).
