  • Bon Iver is amazing and yes it would be a shame if he went mainstream, but its also a good thing in a way for people to recognize this kind of emotional, beautiful and amazing music and what real music should be like, instead of the crap music majority of people listen to today

  • he's on SNL this saturday

  • @oshmunnies somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

  • @oshmunnies Fine, you go write a song that can get 5 million views on Youtube, then I'll believe you. Until then, go take singing lessons to learn exactly how hard it is to sound good while singing live. Then after that, play guitar while hitting the right pitches. And if you can do that, go do it in front of thousands of people. And no, you CANNOT lip sync to the record or autotune yourself like the industry is used to these days. Sorry.

  • If I wanted to hear depressing wining and whimpering over the sound of mediocre chord-plucking, I'd be raking the out-of-tune strings of my crappy Yamaha acoustic with the ass of a maimed cat.

  • Anyone who says--that this "music" is any better than the mainstream pop crap that saturates the media--is lying to themselves. It takes no more talent to do what Boner lover does than it takes to produce any of the hip-hop-pop-teeny-bopper poop that every tone-deaf numbskull in the world loves.

  • What's the big deal? This is sappy, skill-less music that's been done time and time again. I can write songs like this in my sleep, but if I'd known that all I needed to get famous was: 1.) to know only 3 chords, 2.) to wear a stocking cap, flannel and a beard, and 3.) to pretend that my white, suburban upbringing made me sensitive and emotional...I'd have done it in a heartbeat a long time ago.

  • They're already mainstream enough for you fuckwits to think that they are one person.

  • Do people realize Bon Iver is a band? It's not "he" it's "they". Justin Vernon is the lead singer not the entirety of Bon Iver.

  • I am completely at peace after listening to any songs by Bon Iver.

  • I don't know why anyone would not want him to go mainstream. I'd like the whole world to hear this music. For that reason, I hope he's the most "mainstream" artist of all time.
