For people to recognize him? This video has 5 million views, he has a pretty large following. He doesn't need money or fame by making "mainstream" music, he can create whatever he pleases.

Bon Iver is amazing and yes it would be a shame if he went mainstream, but its also a good thing in a way for people to recognize this kind of emotional, beautiful and amazing music and what real music should be like, instead of the crap music majority of people listen to today
