@EmperorofTerra The Byzantine empire lasted for 1.150 years. Name one empire which lasted so long. The Byzantines had flamethrowers, automatic machines and they created orthodoxy and the Cyrilic alphabet.

The Byzantine Empire was hardly able to fight over contested areas against the weakened Georgian kingdom and they were on their military technological peak ...... and they lost that struggle as they also completly lost their existence in the end against the muslims.
